Chap. 22
Pick two countries in Chapter 22 and provide an in depth paragraph on their government and how it operates.
2. What are some of the similarities of the countries that are in Chapter 22?
Mexico has three branches of government just like the U.S does, including the president, congress and the court system. Japan has a constitution that has kind of have same freedoms as us and Japan is a parliamentary democracy just like Great Britain. The emperor serves as a symbol of the state but has no power to govern.
3. What are some of the differences of the countries that are in Chapter 22?
Great Britain is a monarchy and has an unwritten constitution. They have a House of Commons that have rows that face eachother talking and sometimes yelling at one another. The prime minister decides when a general election will be held.. Japans parliament is called the National Diet which is the highest organ of state power. They have a upper and lower house. Japan is a unitary state.
4. Which country in Chapter 22 do you believe has the strongest government and why?
I really dont know..its hard to remember what their government does, so i am just going to say a country. I would say Mexico because they have the same three branches as we do. They have one leader, like us, and that is the president, who has the power to propose amendments to the constitution. Mexico has many powers and have a lot of people to decide things and elect.
5. In what ways does the U.S. government relate to the methods of governments listed in Chapter 22?
Some of them..mostly, have three branches of governement. The president, congress and the court system. They have many elections and the U.S. decide cases on primary parliamentary legislation and common law. They all don't uphold a constitution or the bill of rights. They all have the power to legislate on local matters and to levy taxes.

Using the Internet: find two similarities and two differences between the government of Great Britain and the U.S. Differences: The US has a federal and constitutional republic form of government while the
UK has a constitutional monarchy-parliament government. The US has 50
states and one federal district as where the UK is a single state kingdom that has
four coutries.
Similarites: We declared independence and we both are a democracy and have many same
histories.
Also find two current events relating to the British government and provide a paragraph of reflection.
1. British government is proposing the largest cuts to public spending since World War Two. They are
reducing benefits and eliminating 25 percent of public sector jobs in the next four years. They say it
will lead to a better future. They say that people are going to get angry want it to change.
I know that it will be really hard for the people but in the long run, it will be good. They just have to adapt to the change. They are in debt like us, so they need to cut expenses.
2. New borrowing has been taken out by the Public Sector has increased to record levels. It is
increasing on spending on defence and health. Its ability is to reduce the country’s enormous budget
deficit.
This is a good thing that the money deficit is decreasing and more people are borrowing.
